Just about 50 feet from our front door. Spoiled rotten...Hi! We're the Halsell family, the owners of High Sierra Woodcarvings. My wife Christy and I met right here in Bishop Creek Canyon! We were both part of a six month course run by Youth With A Mission. Our group backpacked for two and a half months through the Sierras and then traveled to the mountains of Kyrgyzstan where we volunteered in small schools there. It wasn't long before we married and returned to the place we met. We both knew the Bishop creek area was the perfect place to start our family.

We live in the tiniest little home, but still feel very spoiled as Bishop Creek flows year round just a few feet from our door. Living at an elevation of 8500 feet gives us endless opportunities to enjoy the wonders these mountains have to offer. We invite you to share these experiences with us through this website. Whether you are checking out our weekly fishing report, or you simply want to see a few pictures of this area, we hope to help make your day just a little more enjoyable.

If you are planning a vacation, we would encourage you to visit the High Sierras. The views are amazing and the fishing can be legendary. We have listed a few businesses on our fish report that are run by families that we have become friends with. Know that you will be well taken care of if you use any of their services. ( Let them know we sent you.)

So come on up when you can, and enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the High Sierras. Until then...

May God bless you and yours,

The Halsell family
